Upgrading ugly underwear and union suits

Horse lovers tend to be outdoorsy folks, even in changing seasons. OK, we knew that.

In most of the American Midwest, that means we wrestle ourselves into long johns, thermal long underwear, or union suits for much of the year. Then we add layers, like breeches or jeans or quilted bibs.

Thank God, that stretch is pretty much over for a while.

So we are laundering, mending, and storing those nearly unmentionables till autumn. We may even be weeding out the old dogs and looking to replace them. And it’s super timing for that, as winter long underwear is offered at discounted clearance prices at this time of year.

Seasoned horsemen and horsewomen who are smart enough to capitalize on these great deals can pick up winter wear for a song and store it till chilly temperatures return.

Sure, we don’t like to think about that, but it’s pretty much inevitable in this region.
