Crafty gifts for horsey folks: Hand-tooled leather spur straps

Patty Potvin, an equestrian from Kewaskum, Wisconsin, does intricate hand tooling and hand stitching in leather to produce one-of-a-kind gifts for horse lovers. All items are sold through her own company, Sandy Ridge Leather.

Here’s one of my personal favorites, a pair of lovely black Western spur straps. Aren’t they pretty?

Of course, Western spur straps must also come in brown, right? Take a look.

Both sets, created as custom designs, were priced at $25. Additional pairs may be made to order, along with cell phone cases, checkbook covers, guitar straps, photo albums, and many other hand-tooled leather items.

Catch a glimpse of this pretty floral headstall. What lovely handiwork.

And what equestrian doesn't adore well-made leather tack and horse gifts?
