First Openly Gay Racehorse To Compete Sunday

.

Gee, what’s next?

The test of courage comes when we are in the minority.

The test of tolerance comes when we are in the majority.

Ralph W. Sockman

“Friends, if we be honest with ourselves,
we shall be honest with each other.”

George MacDonald

Staying On-Track

(On Playing the Racehorse Card)

He wins by a nose and a half without fail,

With overabundance of hooves at his tail.

This gelding is fast,

His flight unsurpassed,

And never his family may groan, weep and wail.

No bedfellows strange at the gathering here.

And no one may question the friendships most dear.

For horses pursue

With instinct that’s true,

And issues of ethics are played out by ear.

A gun splits the air and the vibrant silks fly.

Binoculars cover each rapt watching eye.

Sure, mud may be slung,

But never by tongue,

From flurry of fliers with naught on the sly.

No choice controversial will trouble the herd.

For who could erase a discouraging word?

Injustice perceived

Is often believed.

And justice enforced at the wire is absurd.

True thoroughbreds gallop full force to the win,

Their focus ahead, with no thoughts where they’ve been.

Intolerance fades

With other charades,

As every contestant looks only within.

  5. HAHAHA!!! You almost had me going there, until the guy said he was worried the other horses wouldn't want to ride in the trailer with him, then I saw it was from The Onion!

Trust The Onion to come up with this one. LOL!
