V is for Verifying Equine Valuations.

Value is disconnected from price in the horse world. A $10K horse may be worth $20K, but a $5K horse may not be worth $1.

And a pretty horse that misbehaves, despite its fancy pedigree, can be worth far less than a backyard Plain Jane pony that willingly packs any old cowpoke around. Or a dingy-colored mount with minimal chrome and a mixed background may prove a winner in the show ring or trail classes.

It all depends upon the vision of those who are looking. Savvy horse shoppers will do the homework … and the math.
