Don't Try This at Home ...

Don't Try This at Home ...

... unless you have the piaffe, passage and capriole down pat!

Some days, I think it would be lovely to try something like that.
Other days, this is more my style:

Horsey Bikes: Why didn't they have these when I was a kid?

Horsey Bikes: Why didn't they have these when I was a kid?

Korean designer Eungi Kim created the Horsey Bike for a DesignBoom bicycle contest. Organized with the Seoul Design Foundation, the 'Seoul Cycle Design Competition 2010 drew out plenty of creative cycle creations.

However, this finalist was clearly not horsing around in an effort to stir up some equestrian biking delight.

Doesn’t this look like fun? I'd be willing to bet even a first-time horsey rider could sit the trot on this thing.

How much would you be willing to pony up to purchase a Horsey Bike? And who would pass the buck on a horse that doesn't buck at all?

The Horsey Bike is actually a bicycle accessory set. It comes with a wooden horse outline that affixes to a regular bicycle frame with metal bolts and screws.

Gee, I wonder if it comes with training wheels for horse-loving tots.

Giddy up ,and let’s go biking!

My Little Pony Celebrities: How Did Santa Miss This?

My Little Pony Celebrities: How Did Santa Miss This?

Did Santa Claus tuck a My Little Pony toy in your Christmas stocking this year?

Bet St. Nick didn’t pick one of these celebrity versions of the popular 1980s children’s plastic horse toy. After all, these pricey Pop-Art creations may not be found in toy stores or Santa’s North Pole Workshop.

They’re only shown in select art museums.

Finnish sculptor Mari Kasurinen has fashioned an entire line of celebrity My Little Pony toys.

Mari Kasurinen’s My Little Pony collection, now on display in a London art museum exhibit, includes this variety of celebrities, movie characters and popular culture icons:
Alice in Wonderland, Alien, Andy Warhol, Batman, Batman and Robin, Belle, Catwoman, Cheshire Cat, Chewbacca, Crybaby, Darth Vader, Edward Scissorhands, Elvis Presley, Gene Simmons, Godzilla, Han Solo, Jack Skellington, Joker, Lady Gaga, Luke Skywalker, Mad Hatter, Marilyn Monroe, Michael Jackson, Pirate Captain Jack Sparrow, Poison Ivy, Predator, Princess Leia, Skeletor, Spock, Starbuck, Stormtrooper, Superman, Wonder Woman, Ziggy Stardust and more.
Wonder what the price points might be for these fancy prancing pony toys. What a way to rock that Christmas stocking next year ... if only these My Little Pony creations were actually on sale somewhere.

Animal Psychology and Popular Theology Made Simple

Animal Psychology and Popular Theology Made Simple

Can animals teach humans a thing or two about theology? Do animals even believe in God?

These questions may give us cause for pause (or paws, if you prefer).

Here are a few off-the-hoof statements – ideas we might sink our collective teeth into. Ponder these, and see what you think. Leave a comment, if you dare.

How do some of our favorite animals think about God?

The horse likely thinks to himself, “My human feeds me, so there must be a God.”

The cow might grumble moodily and say to herself, “I feed myself, along with everyone else. Is there really a God?”

The goat may have less discerning ideas, opining thusly: “I eat nearly anything. Maybe God is everywhere.”

The dog may consider deity this way: “My human feeds me, so he must be God.”

The cat probably sums her own theology up succinctly: “My human feeds me, so I must be God.”

The human, perceiving all this intrigue, may decide this: “Look at all the wondrous creatures God has made.”
